Stingray Birthday Party

We were lucky enough to get to go to the coolest birthday party. It was at the Aquarium restaurant in Kemah. After eating lunch and birthday cake, we got to go to the stingray pool and pet the stingrays! It was so much fun!

Yep! He will sleep almost anywhere!

10 months old, already? Seriously?

WOW! Time has just flown by for us with Nate. He is such a good boy. He tolerates an awful lot at our house. Nate is very portable - he naps a lot in his carseat! He crawls now, cruises the furniture, and grabs at anything within reach. We have to be really careful with what we leave out these days! I took him for his second dose of his flu shot today and got the nurse to weigh him. He now weighs, get this......18lbs 6oz. The older two didn't weigh that at a year old! Nate is a pretty good eater and is very content. Lucky for us that he is such an adaptable personality!

Happy 30th Birthday, Kelli!

Kelli and Tom came over Wednesday night to celebrate Kelli's birthday. Her theme was a simple blue "Happy Birthday" theme.
The kitchen was decorated by the kids.

Tom & Kelli's Baby Shower

We went to BR last weekend for Tom & Kelli's baby shower. It really was great to get together with family that we haven't seen in a long time. The soon-to-be parents got all kinds of useful gifts. We can't wait to meet this baby in November!

These next two pictures require the backstory.
Those of you who watched the finale to Big Brother 11 saw that Julie Chen wore what looked like a big blue Snuggie. Kelli found that at Fashion Week in NY, this kind of "dress" was in style. She sent me an email saying she really wanted to get one but was waiting for the LSU one to come in the stores. Kate happened to find one in BR for Kelli to get at the shower. It was a priceless moment that left everyone laughing.
And Look! She can answer the phone now. Those blankets have held her back all those years!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Jason was in Italy for his birthday so we had a delayed celebration for him. The kids decided on a "Star Wars" theme this year. We had lasagna and then an ice cream cake to celebrate.

Nate is 9 months old today!

Nate is 39 weeks old today. He's officially been here on Earth longer than he was inside me. He's so much fun! We went to the doctor today for the 9 month checkup. He was deemed very healthy and on track for everything. Nate weighs 17lbs 5oz and is 27.5 inches long. He is doing quite well at everything and we don't go bakc until November. Nate got his flu shot today and a finger prick to check for anemia.

Nate's newest milestones are that he can pull up and move from the table to the couch/chair. He's moving all over the place. He grins a lot and loves to play and laugh. We are so very lucky to have our Nate dog, Nate dog, Nate diggity-dog!

First Day of School - 2009

Today was the first day of school for Caroline and Sam. Jason took the morning off to go with us. Caroline headed off to Third Grade today. She barely looked back at us and then very nicely told us we could leave! Sam started Kindergarten. He was doing okay until another kid started crying and then he told me he didn't want to be without me. I teared up instantly! I kissed his hand, he put my kiss in his pocket, and then we were off. When I picked them both up this afternoon, they reported that they each had a great day and that they would go back tomorrow. Sam was excited that he got to play with Play-doh and Caroline is excited to start writing next week. All in all, everyone had a great day. Here's to a great year, we are off to to a good start!

Elephant Show

We went to one of the shows at the zoo this weekend. The elephants did all kinds of tricks. This one was our favorite...

Well, we went on down to the {Houston} Zoo...

We took a family day and went to see the animals at our zoo. A baby giraffe was recently born and we were eager to see him! It was hot, but seeing that baby giraffe made it all worth it. The kids had a great time and it was a wonderful way to wind down our summer together. The last thing we did was ride the train through Hermann Park. It was a nice way to end our day.

Nate crawling...

This is a video of Nate doing his army crawling. He's doing it the right way now but wanted to share this.

Great Wolf Lodge Vacation

We decided to take a little mini-vacation to the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine. We went with our friends Katie and Coy and their kids. We love this place! It has so much to do and the kids adore every minute there. The indoor waterpark is especially nice. This is the same resort we went to last summer in Kansas City. This location, though, was about three times the size of the one in KC. We also got the opportunity to meet Casey and Eddie at Fuddrucker's to eat together one day. It was awesome to see them. Totally worth our visit. The boys (Coy and Sam) had a blast playing together.

We went to story time one night and got to see Wiley, the Great Wolf mascot.

Sam and Coy at the waterpark

Once again, we got to play MagicQuest around the hotel. We got to finish it this time and both kids were crowned Master Magi at the end of the journey!

Caroline crossed the lily pads.

Nate had fun in the waterpark, too!
