Caroline's 9th Birthday and July 4th Party

This year, like many others, we celebrated July 4th and Caroline's birthday all in one day. We had friends and family come over to Mom's house. There were hamburgers and hot dogs and lots of other goodies. We were lucky to have Emily, Trevor, and Nicholas come over on their way home. Aunt Carol Ann and Glynn came to celebrate. The rest of the family joined us as well. It was great to see our extended family and friends for a fun, relaxing day.

Avery Island

After we went to New Orleans, we decided to head over to Avery Island where McIlhenny is. McIlhenny is who makes and bottles Tabasco sauce. We wanted to see the production line and the factory. It was a very interesting place. The only drawback was that it was a holiday weekend so they weren't running the line. We didn't get to see them bottling the sauce. It was fun, nonetheless.

My friend, Dana, got these shirts for us when Nate was born. I've been waiting for him to be old enough to fit into it! I've always called Caroline and Sam - Thing 1 and Thing 2 -so it was quite appropriate!
