Swimming

We had some fun this week swimming in the backyard. It's HOT! Nate enjoyed his first time in the pool. He splashed around and had a blast!

Visiting LSU

We took the kids out one afternoon while in Baton Rouge. We walked around LSU, visiting Mike, & checking out the new Alex Box. They loved seeing Mike again! Sam says that out of all the tigers in the world, Mike is his favorite.

Nate is 7 months old!

Nate is now 7 months old! He's so much fun for all of us. Nate eats solids - fruits and veggies, three times a day. He's doing that modified Army crawl and is a grabby guy. We just can't wait to see what he does next!

Summer Activities

Throughout this summer, the kids and I have attended MANY library events. We've seen magicians, a puppeteer came and talked about different kinds of puppets, and a lady came to talk about sharks, jellyfish, and other sea creatures. The pictures below show the Sea Creatures activity we attended. The kids got to make a shark "print", a jellyfish, and look at different animals through the microscope.

Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day in Baton Rouge this year. On Saturday, we all went over to Dad & Julie's house for some eating and playing. Kate, Aaron, and Jackson joined us so it was nice to have everyone together. The kids can't wait to go swimming next time we are at Grandpa and Grandma Julie's house.

Lego Pirate Build

The weekend of June 12-14, our mall hosted a Lego Pirate Build event. An 8ft pirate was built out of Legos. Each kid had the chance to build a "brick" for the Lego Master Dan. I took the kids on Friday to watch them start building. We also went by there on Saturday AND Sunday so we could follow the progress of the pirate construction. All of us had such a good time with this. Sam had the most fun, I think. He talked to Master Dan and had quite the rapport with him. It was too cute. As a Lego nerd myself, I was so very happy to see Sam getting into the event. I've given him my old Legos and even let him look at my Lego set of the Space Shuttle. One day he might get to play with those....one day!

Sam's Graduation

Sam "graduated" from his Preschool on May 21st. They had a program with all the kids singing songs and then did a "Pomp and Circumstance" where the kids walked across the stage in cap and gown. They each received a certificate and a Bible. Sam has enjoyed school this year and can't wait until Kindergarten!

First Communion

Caroline had her First Communion on May 31st. We had a great weekend with lots of family here to help share her special day. That afternoon, friends and family came over to eat and play. It was a very nice way to celebrate C's 1st Communion and Sam's preschool graduation.
