Easter Saturday & Sam's Birthday with the Family

We celebrated Easter and Sam's 8th birthday with family. We had boiled crawfish and shrimp. The kids all played with toys and bubbles. We also had an Easter egg hunt. It was a beautiful day for outside fun.

Sam was surprised by the Star Wars Kinect game!

He was excited for the Beyblade stadium, too!

Camille & Corbin liked the bubbles!

Sam's Jedi Birthday Party

We celebrated Sam's 8th Birthday early this year. His birthday is usually around the week of Spring Break. We had his party early so that his friends would have more of a chance to come. This year, Sam wanted a Star Wars Jedi birthday party. I took that idea and RAN with it!

This was his invitation:

I patterned his party after the Jedi Training Academy that Sam did at DisneyWorld.

Level 1: Make Your Own R2D2 Unit

Level 2 - Costumes - Each kid got a Padawan robe and belt (rope)

Level 3: Light Saber Training

Level 4: Endurance
For the Endurance level, Darth Vader showed up! Each kid got to battle Vader using what they learned in Light Saber Training! Thanks, Mr. Chris, for the costume. The kids all thought it was AWESOME!!

Level 5: Battle the Death Star

Level 6: Graduation
Each kid got a certificate of training and a medal. They also got to keep their costumes and their light saber!

After training, the kids worked up an appetite and were ready for cake and ice cream! A few weeks ago, Sam asked for an R2D2 cake. Here's what I came up with:

Happy Birthday, Samuel!

Jackson's 3rd Birthday Party

On March 11th, our nephew, Jackson, celebrated his 3rd Birthday at a local jumping place. He had a "Cars" themed party so I made him a Lightning McQueen cake.

Caroline going down the slide!

Nate coming down the slide. These kids move fast!

 Happy Birthday, dear Jackson!

 Thank you, Everyone!

Nana's Birthday

For my mom's birthday this year, we had a little party for her. My Aunt Carol Ann surprised Mom by coming into town. We boiled crawfish and sat outside by the fire pit. We all had a really great time.

This pendant used to be a clip-on earring. My grandfather bought the earrings for my grandmother while he was in Europe during the war. My Aunt had each of the earrings turned into pendants. It was a really, really cool gift.

In January, I sent out over 70 letters asking friends from all walks of Mom's life to send in a memory. For each one I received, I put it in an envelope and tied them together. Mom LOVED reading all the letters. THANK YOU PINTEREST!
